Fire Sprinkler Fitter (Apprentice)

A sprinkler fitter is a professional who installs, inspects, and repairs sprinkler systems. They are responsible for tasks such as installing plumbing fixtures, fixing and replacing defective sprinklers, and soldering and welding pipes and fittings designed for sprinklers. They also test sprinkler systems to ensure they are functioning properly as they wear and tear over time. Sprinkler fitters may also be tasked with educating the public about the importance of having functional sprinklers as part of fire prevention measures.

They are expected to be physically fit as climbing, lifting, and working with tools are a must for this position. They use a variety of tools, including cutting torches, drills, saws, and wrenches, and they may also be called upon to work with heavy machinery and other equipment. They are also responsible for maintaining and servicing sprinkler systems and fire pumps, making sure that the systems are working properly and up to code.

The most important thing that installers do, is save lives.

INSPECTORS

Fire sprinkler inspectors are professionals who are responsible for inspecting the alarm systems of a residential or commercial building to ensure that the systems are working and following the local, state, and federal fire safety regulations. These inspectors are required to configure fire alarm systems and automatic sprinklers for proper operation. They must also provide excellent customer service by accommodating the needs of customers.
